I am not a great skier, rather the kind cushy to spend more time on the terrace than on the slopes. But I love the mountains in winter, and I really have a little lack when I do not go there. I like the dry cold, the incredible light when the sun is there on the snow, the breathtaking view from the peaks, the feeling of being a bit alone in the world. I love whipped cream snow that has never been spun, I love hot chocolate, blueberry pie and cheese dishes. I like the chairlift climb that fucks a little bugs. I like to sleep early this good tiredness, own mountain holidays.
Thanks to Villages Clubs du Soleil, we spent a dream week in Oz-en-Oisans, in the Alps. I thank them immensely for this beautiful gift that we have made!
The Oz-en-Oisans area, L'Alpe d'Huez, Vaujany
The area is huge, it includes Vaujany, Oz en Oisans and Alpe-d'Huez! Big favorite for Vaujany, really wild and preserved. No sun in the morning but you have to know it. The tracks between Alpe d'Huez and Oz are very nice too and the views are crazy. The Alpe d'Huez is a very big resort, really not pretty by cons and the slopes that go down are boulevards without interest. By cons, on the advice of a reader we took the chairlift … Which switches to another mountain behind and joins the Sarenne, Europe's largest track (black) from the Pic Blanc. The Alpauris chairlift takes your breath away so you find yourself in the void: worthy of an Asterix amusement park ride!
By cons I found it was a station not obvious for beginners. Many reds and blacks, few big blue ones. We did well but we gave of ourselves!
The station Oz-en-Oisans
Oz is a tiny resort basically it's a small shopping street / snowy track where pedestrians, sled, skiers come in … There are no cars and it is very very nice! Cut off from the world for 1 week!
The village club of the sun is just a little above. It is very well located 2 and a half steps from two gondolas. The kind of place where you put your skis in front of the door!
The White Peak
His majesty of the domain is him: the white peak which culminates at 3300m!
The place is amazing firstly because the view is crazy but also because it is extremely clear. It shows almost 360 °.
You can walk there by taking 3 or 4 gondolas. FYI, there are only black people who leave Pic Blanc!
We had a very good time, one of those you remember for a long time! We left with Mona for a moment with her. We first had lunch in the sun in a restaurant of altitude very nice then we went up at the top of the Peak. Up there we enjoyed the breathtaking scenery. We were all three, perched on the roof of the world!
Years that I wanted to test snowshoes! But you know every time, you have to go to the tourist office, book a niche, go rent equipment … in short I had never done. And there bingo, the Village club of the sun thinks of everything: snowshoeing with guide every morning, ready of equipment on site, included. The top!
We have adored ! You see these places of the mountain that you are looking at saying "I would love to go walking there too" well snowshoes go! We have seen frozen lakes, totally preserved landscapes, footsteps of fox and snow partridge. We drank génépi at 10:30 am in the sun … And I think it was as sporty as skiing.
Next time, I'm doing at least two walks!
The discovery of the snow
On Thursday it snowed all day, at least 30 cm I think, enough to cover all the trees and refresh the snow tracks. It was funny to take Matilda under the flakes, I love the second picture where she tries to eat them. At first she was a little afraid of snow and sledding but over the days she relaxed!
The emotion of the first slips
Mona had never been on skis before. On the first day, she was playful and happy like a finch. But I know our loustic and I was getting ready the next morning, where she was not going to play the same song. Won, 2nd day she did not want to go anymore: "I can not do it, I fall all the time, the others cry! "We coached the balloons thoroughly, the animators also helped to motivate the troops! Wednesday Mona went on the tracks, on Thursday it was training intensively not to stay on the failure of the buttocks. On Friday she received her cub with the pride of a peacock, took the tire as she climbed on the bus and down the tracks all schuss!
And of course, I had a smile to my ears, maternal pride swollen to the block, the watery eyes behind the sunglasses … I was proud, like the mother of the peacock. Not to mention the happiness of skiing with his offspring.
This week has done us a good crazy, and besides the return was very very rough!
We loved the formula at the Oz-en-Oisans Sun Club Village, so convenient and relaxing with two small children. I will tell you our experience in a new article, and give you lots of tips for skiing with a baby.
See you soon !
Thank you Tata Rita the cat for the loan of Mona's outfits!
Thank you to Villages Clubs du Soleil for inviting us!
